| Ahhhh,
I am sitting in a nice lounge chair with the sounds of Dad and my
sisters practicing their instruments in the background. Chelsea, the
oldest girl, and Ruth are playing their violins along with Victoria,
playing a recorder and Dad playing his Guild guitar. They are playing
some colonial sounding piece (I don't know what its called) but it
sounds like something that might have been played at a colonial
country dance or a Williamsburg rally. There is something of an Irish
sound and it almost makes you want to get up and dance a jig or
something.
Haha
now they are seeing who can play the fastest. Dad is a little timid
with his guitar and Victoria is still learning the recorder but Ruth
and Chelsea are blazing away, it sounds like the hair must be flying
off the violin bows! Victoria (the recorder) is almost out of
breath... Ah there it is, they have reached their peak and cannot
play any faster, Victoria is gasping for breath and now everyone is
laughing so hard they can't play anymore. “Life is Good”
Looking back on the last year I can
honestly say that, while it has been challenging at times, the year
has been a good one. My college applications are almost all in the
mail and school has been going well. For those who do not know I am
taking Chemistry, Pre calc and Physics this semester, same as last.
They are demanding courses but I find physics to be fun and I have a
great teacher in Chemistry, which makes it bearable, Pre calc....
well its coming.
Last year everything was kind of in the
air, what college would I be going to? Should I go to college? If I
am not going to college what will I be doing? Those kind of
questions. I suppose every senior high school student has “those
questions” but they are unsettling all the same. Life is becoming a
little more stable for me now and over the last year everything just
seems to have started coming together.
This is the recital Chelsea held for all of her students. Unfortunately (or fortunately, I will leave you to decide) not many of the students could make it to the recital. Sorry it is a little grainy but the uploader would take forever at the next highest resolution, after all its the music your supposed to enjoy(although I did add a few efects )
I was going through the pics of my (and family) vacation to Williamsburg from last year and found a few interesting ones
The Governors palace from the rear, you don't get this perspective to often.
The Williamsburg opera house. We (Alex Chelsea Victoria and I) split off from the main group and went to the Opera House for a few plays, had a blast to.
Hear is Mr George Washington himself, Ok maybe not that but of the ten or so copyists I have seen he was one of the best. For the entire play we were congress and he was basically asking for money for the war effort. He really did a great job of pulling the audience in and making us feel like a part of the original story. Sorry for the grainy pic but, this being my video camera and they would not let us use flash to boot kinda did it.
We (the four of us again) stopped of at Monticello on our way back home. I was surprised to see that it was not as big as I had thought, in fact most of the rooms were very small.
Happy New Year
